Party Staff FAQ


1. What Party Staff services you have available?

  • Captains - Supervise waits and bussers
  • Waits - servers for plated meals and buffets
  • Bartenders -- Wine, Beer and soft Drinks only, not mixed drinks.
  • Bussers -  Clear Tables
  • Runners - Replenish Buffets, refill water glasses
  • Greeters - Staff at entrances and coat check
  • Set Up Crew - Set up or Break down.
  • Party Assistants - Assist with miscellaneous task



2. When do you recommend to reserve the staff for my event?
There are some seasons and weekends during which party staff  / wait staff is more in demand. We recommend as soon as you know your event date and when you've calculate your guest.



3. Are you also a caterer? 
We do not provide catering services, but we're glad to refer you to companies in The Triangle that provide food and beverage services. Beside party staff, we can also provide party rentals and balloon decorations.



4. Do you provide food & drink?  
In some cases we can provide you with drinks like bottle waters, kids juices, soft drinks and ice but not food. We have some party supplies that we can provide when you rent the machines like pop corn supplies, cotton candy supplies and sno cone supplies among others contact us to find if we have the party supplies you need.
 


5. How many staff will I need?
Party staff or waitstaff  will depend on the style of service and the number of guests at your event. We will be happy to discuss the details of your event and assist you in determining the quantity of staff that's right for your event. We have a quick reference in our Party Staff page, however it always depends on the style of event you are having. Our staff is qualify to serve in weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, private parties, festivals, kids parties, quinceaeras, bar/bat mitzvah and more.


6. When should my staff arrive?

We suggest your staff arrive 45 minutes to one hour prior to your guests' arrival. It is recommended that party staff arrive earlier if they are expected to help with food setup.

When should be a good time for the staff to leave the event?

The wait staff needs to start cleaning up 45 to an hour prior to their leave time. In case you rent food equipment from us, staff is required to leave equipment ready for pick up. This time excludes the tear down of tables, chairs and linens. If you want the party staff to leave all equipment ready for pick up please contact us for an estimate.


8. What are your hourly rates? Do you have an hourly minimum?

Hourly rates vary depending on the job description. There is a four hour minimum on all events.


9. What can your party staff do? 

Our wait staff, servers, captains can work at any type of event - from elaborate weddings to intimate dinners. Whether you are working with a caterer, having your favorite restaurant deliver food, or preparing the meal yourself, our party staff will take care of the details at your event allowing you to enjoy your event like a guest.

The set up crew and party assistants can help you to set up tables, chairs and decoration. The party assistant can steam tablecloths for a nice look without the wrinkle lines,  linens get after being folded.



10. Why is it recommended to hire an event captain?

We recommend to hire a captain to run your event smoothly regardless the size of your event . We require captains on larger parties or events with an intricate time line (like a formal sit down dinner) Party Staff Event Captains have the leadership experience and problem-solving skills to ensure your event runs seamlessly.


11. Do you have chefs?
No, we don’t have chefs but we're glad to refer you to great chefs. You should contact them to see which one meet your needs.



12. Do you offer bartender sevices?
At this moment we do not offer bartending services for mixed drinks. However if you are looking a bartender for beer, wine and soft drinks contact us and we can provide you one.



13. What do your bartenders bring with them?

Our bartenders arrive with wine and beer openers. Please note: Party Staff does not provide beverages of any kind, ice, fruit or other garnishes. Click on our equipment rental  for bar recommendations for suggestions about bar supplies for your event.


14. What is your reservation policy?

Same like our rentals and balloon decorations we require 50% of your quote to reserve the date and staff. Remaining balance is due a week prior to the event. We also require a valid credit card number to confirm the reservation, in case staff has to stay longer at your event. The office holds the card number on file. It is never shared with the staffer(s) working the event.


 15. How can I pay for my reservation?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, check or cash as method of payment.

You can come to our showroom to make the payment, call us to pay by credit card or mail us a check



16. What about gratuities?

The hourly rate does not include any gratuity for our staff. Tipping is always at your discretion. If our staff meet or exceed your expectations, we suggest a gratuity between 20%-30% depending on your level of satisfaction. You can pay the staff directly in cash, or the gratuity can be charge to the credit card on file by writing it in on the instructions party staff document when it is presented to you at the end of the party.


17. What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel your reservation three weeks prior to your event, we will refund 100% of your deposit. Cancellations made two weeks prior to delivery will be charge with a fee of 50% of your “original deposit amount”. Cancellations made within a week to your event date will be charged  the four hour minimum to your credit card.


18. How your party staff is dressed?
We have different uniforms.  We will provide you a form to choose among the different uniforms.

  • Set up staff and miscellaneous. Dressed Khaki or Jeans and T-shirt or Polo shirt ( Careli Logo)
  • Servers, Bussers and Runners can do

 

Khaki or Jeans and t-shirt or Polo Shirt ( pool parties, festivals and informal celebrations)

    Black pants, white dressing shirt with tie, with vest or without.

    19. What if I need to add more staff or hours to my event?
    Please contact us as soon as you know you have to add hours and staff.


    20. What happen if during my event I want the staff to stay longer?
    Please contact us at the cell phone number we provide you. You also have to sign the agreement to charge your credit card for the exceeding hours when it is presented to you before staff stay longer. Lead person or Captain should have the documentation for you.


    21. What happen if I am the bride/groom and I have to leave early?
    We always require one person besides you that can take decision in case you have to leave early or you’re busy with your guests. Captain/Lead will always have to contact you or the other responsible person for any change, instructions or for adding hours. Our staff only receives instructions from you and the authorized person.


    22. I need a bartender this weekend! Do you have someone available?
    If we have staff available we can provide you services however we require at least 24 hours  before your event. Please do not hesitate to contcat us to ask about availability.
